Stockbridge: Chorus to begin rehearsals for spring concert
Rehearsals for the spring concert by Stockbridge Festival Chorus begin at 1 p.m. on Sunday, Jan. 27, at First Congregational Church on Main Street.
The spring concert is Felix Mendelssohn’s "Elijah," and will be given at 5 p.m. on Saturday, April 27, with John Demler singing the lead role of Elijah.
All rehearsals will take place in the church sanctuary from 1 to 3 p.m. every Sunday leading up to the concert. Scores will be available for purchase or choristers can bring their own Schirmer scores. Choristers will be asked to pay $30 dues to help defray concert costs.
Any interested singer is invited to participate and new registrants will be accepted through Sunday, Feb. 10. Tenors and basses are particularly welcomed.
Choristers may miss no more than three rehearsals and the dress rehearsal on Friday, April 26, is mandatory.
