Stockbridge: Festival chorus to present holiday concert
The Stockbridge Festival Chorus will present its annual holiday concert at 5 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 8, at First Congregational Church, 4 Main St.
The centerpiece of the performance is Kirke Mechem’s "Seven Joys of Christmas," composed in 1964, which is a sequence of carols from around the world.
Other selections in the concert include carols and anthems by John Rutter, Peter Cornelius, Howard Helvey, Herbert Howells, John Gardner, and Tom Fettke.
The 60-voice choir is conducted by Tracy Wilson. The concert will be accompanied by Lee Dixon on piano and the Rev. Tim Weisman on organ.
Soloists from within the choir are Paula Nuss, alto, and Fran Stone, baritone. Special guest soprano is 13-year-old Noah Pott.
Admission is $15 for adults; children are free. A reception with the singers will follow the concert.
