Stockbridge: Library plans grand reopening following renovations


The Stockbridge Library Association announces the grand reopening of the Stockbridge Library, Museum & Archives, 46 Main St., from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, April 30.

A complete renovation of the building, the first in nearly 80 years, provides expanded space and functionality, universal accessibility and updated technology.

The ribbon cutting will take place promptly at 10 a.m. with speeches by U.S. Rep. Richard E. Neal, state Rep. William "Smitty" Pignatelli, Library Director Katherine O'Neil, Museum & Archives Curator Barbara Allen, and others.

The day's events include performances by the Brass Quintet with Paul Sundberg and Jeff Stevens, Shakespeare & Company and The Quintessentials a capella group, and an exhibit of Clemens Kalischer's photographs in the lobby.

Children's activities include face painting, a "Make Your Own Book" craft and a scavenger hunt.
