Sunday's shooting victim in stable condition


PITTSFIELD >> The city man who was shot early Sunday morning has been upgraded from critical to stable condition, according to a hospital spokesperson.

Police are continuing their investigation into the shooting of Eric Cornielle, 25, but have no new details to provide.

Responding to a shots fired call in the area, police found Cornielle in the road at the intersection of Second, Adam and Pleasant streets about 12:11 a.m.

Cornielle was suffering from a single gunshot wound and was taken to Berkshire Medical Center where he was listed in critical, but stable condition.

He was later transferred to Baystate Medical Center in Springfield, according to Pittsfield Police.
