BENNINGTON, Vt. — Samuel Smith Jr., Katherine M. Kelleher, and Amy Wheaton have joined the Southwestern Vermont Medical Center Orthopedics team and Dartmouth Hitchcock Putnam Physicians.Over the past 19 years, Smith has worked as a physician assistant in the orthopedics, neurosurgery, and imaging departments at Berkshire Medical Center in Pittsfield, Mass. He had been the chief physician assistant in BMC's surgical services department since 2008. Smith is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants. He holds a bachelor's in history from Bates College, a master's in exercise physiology from the University of New Hampshire and a physician assistant certificate from Northeastern University. Kelleher holds a master of science in nursing from Boston College and a bachelor's degree from McGill University in Montreal. She is certified by the American Association of Nurse Practitioners. Kelleher has worked for the past year as a registered nurse in an emergency department. She had previously worked as an emergency medical technician.Wheaton received a master's in physician assistant studies from MCPHS in Boston and a bachelor's in interdisciplinary health studies from Stonehill College. She is certified by the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants.
