Taconic baseball falls at Cathedral, 9-1
SPRINGFIELD -- Taconic suffered its first loss of the baseball season Saturday, dropping a 9-1 decision to Cathedral at Forest Park.
Cathedral scored four runs in the first inning, and added four more in the third. Kyle Card took the loss for the Braves, throwing 73 pitches in just 21 3 innings.
"Kyle didn't have his best stuff today," Taconic coach Kevin Stannard said. "His release point was high all day."
Taconic scored its lone run in the third inning, on a Brian Bonacquisti sacrifice fly that scored Jordan Barbarotta. Alex Carusotto doubled for the Braves.
