Taconic golf earns road win over Mount Everett

GREAT BARRINGTON -- Led by John Keegan's 41 at Egremont Country Club, Taconic High School's golf team defeated Mount Everett 171-187 on Friday.

Devin Farnum of Mount Everett was the medalist after shooting a 2-over-par 36. Each of Taconic's top-five finishers, though, had scores in the 40s.

Eagles head coach Fred Finkle said Taconic's well-balanced attack was too much for his team to overcome.

"We have a couple seniors playing well, but our younger kids need more work," Finkle said. "Hopefully they can improve as the season goes on."

TACONIC (171) -- John Keegan 41, Mitch Omelenchuck 42, Ross Omelenchuck 42, A.J. Bowman 46, Matt Ferris 47.

EVERETT (187) -- Devin Farnum 36, Jon Ovitt 46, Matt Morehouse 52, Kyle Smith 53, Sam Riva 59.
