Taconic wrestler Davis brings home a weekend title


SCHENECTADY, N.Y. -- Tajaye Davis took home a first-place finish at 285 in the Schenectady Invitational at Schenectady High School.

Dylan Sickell picked up a second-place finish at 138, while Nick Bailey was fourth at 120.

Plattsburgh 5, Williams 4, OT

PLATTSBURGH, N.Y. --After two periods, 13th-ranked Williams led 10th-ranked Plattsburgh 4-1, and things were looking pretty good.

Plattsburgh's Kevin Emmerling scored two of his team's goals in the third period, including the game-tying tally at 16:16. Then with 10 seconds left in the 5-minute overtime, Luke Baleshta beat Eph goalie Sean Dougherty to give the Cardinals the win.

Nick Anderson had two goals for the Ephs (8-3-1). Plattsburgh (11-5-1) outshot Williams 42-20 and Dougherty had 37 saves.

WILLIAMSPORT, Pa. -- Williams finished seventh in the Budd Whitehill Duals tournament at Lycoming College.

The Ephs finished 2-1 in the tournament. Ces Antista, wrestling at 141 pounds, went 5-0 in his individual matches. Jorge Lopez went 6-0 at 149.
