The Forum: McCann students score at SkillsUSA event

NORTH ADAMS -- Eleven students from Charles H. McCann Technical School earned honors at the 2012 SkillsUSA state competition, held April 26 through 28 in Marlborough.

Four students earned gold medals and the opportunity to attend the SkillsUSA Na tional Leadership and Skills Con fer ence June 23 through 27 in Kansas City, Mo.

Gold winners include the team of Ethan Himes and Nic h olas Kasala for 3-D Visualization and Anima tion; Josephine Deeley for Dental Assistant Post-Secon dary, and Erica Holman for Medical Assisting Post-Secondary.

Adam Lemoine also earn ed the honor to be a voting delegate at the national competition.

McCann winners at the silver level include the Auto mated Manufacturing Tech nology team of Toby Alves, Zach Ricther and Brandon Smith; and Brittney Flynn for Customer Service.

Bronze level winners in clude Morgan Boucher for the Cosmetology (over 500 hours) Post-Secondary category, and Christina D'As canio for Job Interview Post-Secondary.
