NEW LEBANON, N.Y. -- Agatha Christie’s "Black Coffee" begins a two-week run at 8 tonight at The Theater Barn, 654 Route 20.

The show runs through July 20 with performances 8 p.m. Thursdays and Fridays; 4 and 8 p.m. Saturdays; and 2 p.m. Sundays.

Created in 1930 as an original stage play, "Black Coffee" brings back detective Hercule Poirot to exercise his "little grey cells" one more time.

An urgent call from physicist Sir Claud Amory sends the famed detective rushing from London to a sprawling country estate. Sir Claud fears a member of his own household wants to steal a secret formula destined for the Ministry of Defense. But Poirot arrives too late as someone has already been murdered and the formula is missing. Poirot soon identifies a potent brew of despair, treachery, and deception amid the mansion’s occupants.

Directing "Black Coffee" is Theater Barn veteran John Trainor. He has assembled a cast of Barn veterans Meg Dooley, Aaron Holbritter, Michael Hayes and Ben Katagiri, who are4 joined by several newcomers.

Ticket information is available at (518) 794-8989, or online at theaterbarn.com
