Also from 5 to 8 p.m. tonight, UNITY, a teen leadership program of the Northern Berkshire Community Coalition, is hosting a pizza party fundraiser at the American Legion in North Adams to raise funds and collect supplies for the Be Like Brit Foundation. The foundation operates a 19,000-square-foot orphanage in Grand Goâve, Haiti. It was built in loving memory of Britney Gengel, who perished in the 2010 Haiti earthquake while on a service trip through her college, Lynn University.
The pizza party will feature homemade pizza, with gluten-free options available, and will include live entertainment and a bake sale.
Admission is $7 for adults, and $5 for youths and seniors. Adults who bring school supplies, hygiene products, household products, or nonperishable food items will be admitted for $5. Learn more about the event at facebook.com/nbccoalition.
Arborea, a Maine-based "avant-folk" husband and wife acoustic duo, will perform from 8 to 10 p.m., Friday, at No. Six Depot Roastery & Café in West Stockbridge. Berkshire Theatre Group is sponsoring two special benefit events this weekend.
The ninth annual Richie duPont Award celebration starts at 8 p.m., Friday, at Firefly Restaurant in Lenox. Tickets are $20, and can be purchased in advance or at the door. The event was started in memory of the late young actor, Richie duPont and helps to send youths to camp sessions at "BTG Plays!" This year’s event includes live music by The Interlopers, a silent auction and light fare.
On Saturday at 8 p.m., BTG and Down County Social Club will present the "Down County Ball" at The Garage in the Colonial Theatre in Pittsfield. The ball is a "full-on dance party driven by the rhythmic inspiration" of DJ BFG and DJ Roth Fitz. The evening will also feature live multimedia/music performances by Tree Collage and a live interactive theatrical performance by Heather Fisch featuring The Berkshire Community Youth. Proceeds benefit the development of a new youth performance center at Berkshire Theatre Group’s Pittsfield campus. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 day of show.

Northampton-based singing and songwriting darling Heather Maloney will perform Saturday at the Vermont Arts Exchange in North Bennington, Vt. Doors open at 7 p.m., and the show starts at 8. A cash bar will be offered by Thyme Tables Catering.
