Thomas Leavitt, CEO and president of MountainOne Financial, leaving to take Vermont post

NORTH ADAMS -- Thomas S. Leavitt is stepping down as the president and CEO of MountainOne Financial to accept a similar position at Northfield Savings Bank in Vermont, the company has announced.

Leavitt's last day with MountainOne is Sept. 25.

A native of Vermont, Leavitt has served as president and CEO of MountainOne since 2012. During his tenure, he oversaw the advancement of both MountainOne Bank and the group's insurance and investment divisions, which include Coakley, Pierpan, Dolan & Collins, True North Insurance and True North Financial.

He had previously served on the senior management team of Merchants Bank in Vermont for 16 years.

"It is a privilege to have had this rich affiliation with MountainOne and the commonwealth of Massachusetts," Leavitt said in a statement

Board Chairman Dan Bosley thanked Leavitt for his service.

"He has worked hard with our management team and board to unify our structure and lead a coherent strategy of growth," Bosley said.

MountainOne is a mutual holding company that is headquartered in North Adams.
