Three staffers join Berkshire United Way

PITTSFIELD -- The Berkshire United Way has hired three new staffers.

Shauna Powell has been hired as finance assistant, Daniel Kaufman as coordinator of resource development, and Erin Breen as resource development assistant.

The hirings support a recent restructuring of the organization, said Berkshire United Way President and CEO Kristine Hazzard.

Powell joins the Berkshire United Way while still serving as the business manager at J. Allen’s Clubhouse Grille and Patrick’s Pub in Pittsfield. He has also worked for General Electric, and The Dow Chemical Company. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, and holds an MBA from Northeastern University.

Breen served as an intern at Berkshire United Way while completing her associates degree at Berkshire Community College. She has helped with the early literacy work of the Pittsfield Promise. She has also worked at the Youth Center in North Adams.
