Thruway will suspend construction projects

Saturday June 29, 2013

ALBANY, N.Y. (AP) -- The New York State Thruway is suspending construction projects over the holiday weekend to keep traffic moving.

Contractors will only be allowed to perform Thruway work that will not be disruptive over this weekend. Thruway officials say construction will be suspended through 6:30 p.m. Monday from Exit 29A at Little Falls to Exit 44 at Canandaigua.

More than 6.5 million vehicles traveled on the Thruway during last year's Fourth of July holiday travel period, which ran from June 30 through July 8, 2012.
