Thursday's local roundup: Lee, Lenox tennis teams open spring sports season

LEE -- Emma Forget rallied after dropping the first set at No. 2 singles on Thursday, taking the next two sets from Lenox's Liz Jarck and winning her match en route to Lee's 4-1 win over the Millionaires in the season opener for both teams.

Forget prevailed 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in what Lee coach Jeff Forget called "the match of the day."

"In the first set, [Emma] was making a lot of unforced errors, and Liz Jarck is a very steady player," the coach said. "She's very athletic. Emma just basically forgot about the first set, and came out strong in the second."

Caitlyn Briggs won in straight sets at No. 1 singles, while Lee's doubles teams -- Sarah Winston and Madison DeSantis, and Ashley Kelly and Kayla Withers -- won their matches.

Lenox's point came at No. 3 singles, as Alex Trousilek beat Julie LePrevost in straight sets.
