Tony Bennett to perform at Tanglewood on Aug. 31


LENOX - Tony Bennett, the 17-time Grammy Award-winning musician, returns to Tanglewood on Sunday, Aug. 31 for a single performance in the Koussevitzky Music Shed at 2:30 p.m.

Bennett last appeared at Tangelwood in September 2005 with the Count Basie Orchestra.

Tickets for the Aug. 31 performance go on sale on Tuesday, April 8, at 10 a.m. at, by calling 888-266-1200, or by visiting the Symphony Hall Box Office.

Shed prices for the Tony Bennett concert range from $49.50 to $97.50 and lawn seats cost $25.

Bennett's career, which spans six decades, includes the prestigious Grammy Lifetime Achievement Award, as well as his signature songs, such as "Steppin' Out With My Baby" and "I Left My Heart In San Francisco."

His daughter, Antonia Bennett will open the performance with a collection of jazz/pop standards. She is a graduate of the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston.
