Town Players of Pittsfield: Actors needed for Odets play

PITTSFIELD -- Town Players of Pittsfield is seeking actors for a staged reading of Clifford Odets' "Waiting for Lefty." Six to 10 male and female roles are available for performers 20 years old and up. No previous acting experience is necessary.

Auditions will be held Tuesday and Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave. Actors will read from the script.

"Waiting for Lefty" is a one-act play that centers around a 1935 New York City taxi driver strike. Through a series of vignettes, the audience learns about the various union members and their reasons for wanting to strike.
