Town Players of Pittsfield: Actors sought for reading

PITTSFIELD -- Auditions for roles in "Mum Bette’s Minute" -- a new short play by Jesse Waldinger that will be given a series of staged readings by Town Players of Pittsfield in August -- are scheduled 6-9 p.m., Wednesday and Thursday, at Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave.

The director is Barbara Waldinger.

The roles to be filled are:

n Theodore Sedgwick, Caucasian male, 35-40 years old;

n John Ashley, Caucasian male, 60s;

n Mum Bett (Elizabeth Freeman), African-American female, 30s.

There will be two staged readings at the Whitney on Aug. 21 as part of Pittsfield’s Third Thursday.

An additional performance is scheduled for Aug. 16, Elizabeth Freeman Day, at the Ashley House, home of Mum Bett, in Sheffield.
