Town Players of Pittsfield sets readings
PITTSFIELD -- Town Players of Pittsfield is presenting two short readings on the topic of pride Sunday afrernoon at 5 at the Lichtenstein Center for the Arts on Renne Avenue .
The first is a one-act comedy by Ernest Thompson, from his collection "Answers." In "The Constituent," a cantankerous voter from Maine writes venomous letters to his U.S. Senator on a regular basis. Drawn to meet the source of all this attention, the senator shows up unannounced for a visit. Kevin Wixsom plays Chas Potter, the constituent. Cast as the senator is Joshua Carty. The director is Constance Bullard and the narrator is Laura Gardner.
The second piece is a monologue, "The Hand of God" by Alan Bennett. Constance Bull ard plays Celia, the owner of an antique shop who sells an item whose value was more than she ever imagined. Getting her to admit her error is a challenge.
Directing this monologue are Bob Boland and Karel Fisher.
