Town Players of Pittsfield slates two days of auditions


PITTSFIELD >> Town Players of Pittsfield is scheduling two days of auditions — Jan. 4 and 5 — for one staged reading and two fully mounted productions.

Auditions will be at the Whitney Center for the Arts, 42 Wendell Ave. beginning at 6 p.m. on both dates.

Sides will be provided. Prepared monologues — kept to under two minutes — are welcome but not required.

Auditions are for:

• Staged readings of "Hearing Aid" by Pete Barry and "Senior Moments" by Frederick Stroppel. Performance date is 2 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31. Needed are men and women who are middle-aged and older and one younger woman.

• A fully staged production of "Ten Shorts" by Jerry Leventhal, presented in collaboration with the Whitney Center for the Arts as part of the City of Pittsfield's annual 10x10 Festival. Performance dates are Feb. 19, 20, and 21. Needed are five men and five women of all ages.

• A fully staged production of "The Shape of Things" by Neil LaBute with performances the weekends of March 11 and 18. Needed are two men and two women, early to mid-20s or who can play that range.
