Track/field: Mount Greylock's Alex Majetich is sixth in 100 at New England meet

Three Berkshire County athletes ended their track and field seasons at Saturday's New England Interscholastic championship meet at Veterans Stadium in New Britain, Conn.

Mount Greylock's Alex Majetich took sixth place in the girls 100-meter dash, qualifying for the finals in a time of 12.38 seconds before running a 12.41 in the finals.

Monument Mountain's Iolani DeRis was also a top-10 girls finisher, taking 10th place in the javelin. Her top throw Saturday was 119 feet, 7 inches.

On the boys side, Lenox's Scott Carpenter ended his high school career with a 15th-place finish in the 3,200 meters. Carpenter ran 2 miles in 9:40.58.
