Tractor trailer hits guardrail, Route 8 in Otis closed

Posted

OTIS-- A tractor-trailer struck a guardrail on Route 8 in Otis at about 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, causing the road to be closed, state police said.

The tractor-trailer’s driver told state police that he skidded on black ice before crashing into the guardrail. Nobody was injured.

State police have closed off Route 8, from the Route 23 intersection down to Reservoir Road.

Emergency responders are working to remove the tractor-trailer from the scene and clean up the accident.

The road should be fully reopened by 11:30 a.m., though state police are hopeful that one lane could be opened up for traffic earlier.
