Trio take lead at Little Brown Jug

DALTON >> Play got underway this afternoon for the 45th annual Little Brown Jug golf tournament at Wahconah Country Club.

After the first round, three teams are tied at the top of the leaderboard after shooting opening rounds of five-under 66. The teams are comprised of Andy Dastoli/Andy Rogers, Chris Ferriter/Joe Wilson and Chad Stoffer/Mike McCarroll.

Dastoli and Rogers started off with a bogey on 10, their first hole of the day. However, they rebounded with birdies at 11, 13 and 18 to close their opening nine with a 34. They continued strong, scoring birdies on 1, 4 and 5 before finishing with four consecutive pars for 66.

Ferriter and Wilson also started on the 10th hole. They carded three birdies (10, 16 and 18) and a lone bogey on their opening nine to turn in a 34. They picked up four more birdies on the front nine against a lone bogey. A closing stretch included three birdies on their final four holes for 66.
