Trip set to Chester Theatre Company in N.Y.

CHESTER -- Chester Theatre Company is sponsoring a theater tour May 11 to see Deirdre Kinahan's "These Halcyon Days" at The Irish Arts Center in midtown Manhattan.

A big hit of the 2012 Dublin Theatre Festival, "These Halcyon Days" is about the, by turns, charming and combative relationship that develops between a man named Seán, who sits alone in a nursing-home conservatory, abandoned to his memories, and a feisty woman named Patricia, who has a zest for life and handsome men in wheelchairs.

The tour bus departs at 9:30 a.m. from the south parking lot of the Basketball Hall of Fame in Springfield, accessible from I-91 exit 6, arriving in Manhattan with ample time for lunch prior to the 2 p.m. matinee.

After the performance, CTC artistic director Byam Stevens and Kinahan will lead a talk-back for the CTC group in the Irish Arts Center's theater.

A snack will be provided on the bus during the return trip, which is scheduled to arrive in Springfield by 8 p.m.

Tour cost is $149 per person, which includes round-trip bus fare, theater tickets, a list of restaurant recommendations near the Irish Arts Center, post-performance talk-back, and on-board snacks.

Only 45 seats are available.

Reservations can be made by mail by forwarding a check in the amount of $149 per person to Chester Theatre Company, PO Box 722, Chester, MA 01011; or by credit card by calling the CTC box office at (413) 354-7771.
