PITTSFIELD >> Local resident Bob Tucker was awarded the Extra Mile Award at the Jimmy Fund Golf Appreciation Night held Feb. 4 at The International Golf Club in Bolton.

The Jimmy Fund recognized more than 160 volunteer-run tournaments for their commitment to the Jimmy Fund Golf program.

By organizing golf tournaments, the volunteers helped raise more than $6.8 million in 2015 for adult and pediatric cancer care and research at Dana-Farber through Jimmy Fund Golf, one of the largest and oldest charity golf programs in the nation.

For 32 years, Tucker has been a member of the Jimmy Fund Council of Berkshire County and currently serves as president. He has been actively involved with the Council's golf tournament, putt-a-thon, ice fishing derby, and Little League tournament.
