Two charged with selling heroin
GREAT BARRINGTON -- A Great Barrington mother of two young children and a Connecticut man are facing drug charges for allegedly dealing heroin out of the woman’s apartment.
Tina Haddock, 32, and Michael Crump, 35, of Winsted, Conn., each are accused of possession with intent to distribute heroin and conspiring to violate state drug laws, according to Great Barrington police. Haddock faces an additional charge of possessing heroin.
The drug suspects are being held in the police lockup pending their arraignment today in Southern Berkshire District Court.
They were arrested Wednesday evening at the Christian Hill Commons as local police and the Berkshire County Drug Task Force ex ecuted a search warrant of Haddock’s apartment at the housing complex on Christian Hill Road.
The arresting officers al legedly found 25 to 28 bags of heroin, $324 in cash and drug paraphernalia, said Great Barrington Police Sgt. William Bartini. He added that Haddock’s two children, ages 3 and 5, also living at the apartment, were placed in the care of the state Department of Children and Families.
Authorities allege Crump, who also faces a parole violation in Connecticut, was providing Haddock with heroin in exchange for allowing him to live in her apartment in order to deal drugs.
