Two die in head-on crash in upstate New York
PLATTEKILL, N.Y. (AP) -- Two people have died after a head-on collision in the Ulster County town of Plattekill.
Plattekill police say a 2003 Acura ATL driven by 36-year-old Glenford Clarke of Newburgh suddenly veered right on Route 32 at 2:20 p.m. Saturday. The car hit the guardrail and careened across the center line, hitting a 2009 Toyota Corolla driven by 75-year-old Marylou Wild of Modena.
Wild and her passenger, 83-year-old Edward Butler of Wallkill, were transported to hospitals where they were pronounced dead.
Police say Clarke was treated at a local hospital for injuries described as minor.
The cause of the crash is under investigation.
