FLORIDA -- A local teenager and a Franklin County man were injured following an accident involving a car and a motorcycle on the Mohawk Trail (Route 2) over the weekend, officials said.

An 18-year-old from Florida, whom police didn’t identify, and motorcyclist David Frank, 51, of Greenfield, were taken to North Adams Regional Hospital on Saturday afternoon with unknown injuries, according to state police.

The conditions of the two accident victims were unavailable Sunday night.

According to a report from troopers at the Cheshire barracks, they received a call around 1:10 p.m. Saturday of a motorcycle off the road near the former general store.

The teenage driver was behind the wheel of a 2006 Honda Pilot.

Further details of the incident, which remains under investigation, were unavailable Sunday.

State police say they plan to cite Frank for improper passing of a motor vehicle.
