Two Pittsfield residents arrested following Richmond break-in
Berkshire Eagle Staff
PITTSFIELD -- Two Pittsfield residents were arrested on Friday afternoon in connection with a March 13 house break-in in Richmond, with possible additional charges coming for other countywide house break-ins, according to state police.
Christopher Maschino and Ann Haughey, both 21, each face two counts of receiving more than $250 in stolen property after jewelry and cameras were allegedly discovered in their possession.
State Trooper James Somerville said the arrest was made in a joint investigation between the Lee and Pittsfield police departments and Massachusetts State Police. He described the two as friends.
In recent weeks, there have been a series of break-ins across Berkshire County. Through March 16, Richmond was hit with seven daylight break-ins during the month, according to the state police.
Somerville said information wasn’t available about any recent house break-ins.
"As a result of the arrest several investigations have been launched into house break-ins in Berkshire County," Somerville said.
Maschino and Haughey were both sent to Berkshire County Jail and House of Correction.
