BENNINGTON, VT — Police say they have arrested 30 people in Bennington and Rutland Counties, including two women from North Adams, Mass., for allegedly selling heroin and cocaine.

The Vermont Drug Task Force said Wednesday that many of the arrests were conducted Tuesday and that 19 people are cited to appear in Vermont Superior Court, either in Bennington or Rutland counties. Ten more are facing federal indictments, these being from arrests that have taken place over the past weeks. One person from Bennington is still being sought by police.

"All of these arrests were the culmination of enforcement efforts over the past year, specifically targeting those individuals involved in the distribution of illicit drugs," reads a release from the Task Force, which collaborated with the Federal Bureau of Investigations, the federal Drug Enforcement Administration, and the federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
