Vermont State Police seek missing New Jersey man in Shaftsbury

SHAFTSBURY, VT>> Authorities are searching for a missing New Jersey man after finding an abandoned vehicle in town.

Ivan V. Kaltunevich of Princeton Junction was reportedly supposed to be at college classes in New Jersey on Friday, but did not attend, according to Vermont State Police.

Kaltunevich was last seen wearing a black hooded sweatshirt, black pants and black shoes.

Troopers responded to a residence on Blueberry Hill Road in Shaftsbury on Friday for a report of a vehicle parked on the property. The vehicle was a silver 2006 Nissan 350 with a New Jersey registration.

Kaltunevich, whom police identified as the suspected operator, could not be located in the area.

Kaltunevich's current whereabouts are unknown. It was unclear whether he has ties to the area.
