WINOOSKI, Vt. (AP) -- Police say a 23-year-old man who was shot while allegedly breaking into a Vermont apartment left a hospital bed where he was recovering but was later arrested at a motel and put behind bars.

Angel Concepcion and 26-year-old Trinelle Cox of New York were shot by an apartment dweller during an apparent home invasion at 1 a.m. Tuesday.

Concepcion had been recovering at Fletcher Allen Health Care in Burlington, but he left his hospital bed Saturday morning while hooked up to an IV and wearing a hospital gown.

The Burlington Free Press said an anonymous tip led police Saturday night to a motel in Shelburne, where they arrested Concepcion without incident. He is scheduled to be arraigned in Burlington on Monday

Police said Cox remained hospitalized Sunday morning.
