Veterans and award-winners and nominees coming to Barrington Stage this summer
PITTSFIELD >> Barrington Stage Company veterans Jeff McCarthy, Debra Jo Rupp and Mark Dold will be returning to Barrington Stage Company this summer. Joining them will be two actresses well known by television audiences — Annie Golden ("Orange is the New Black") and Tamara Tunie ("Law & Order); two Tony Award winners — Michael Rupert and Philip Boykin; and a complement of Tony Award nominees, among them Will Swenson, who appeared in last summer's production of "A Moon for the Misbegotten" at Williamstown Theatre Festival, and David Garrison.
Rupp, who will be co-starring with Dold in A.R. Gurney's "Love Letters," Sept. 23-Oct. 2 at BSC's intimate St. Germain Stage, will be at the St. Germain Stage earlier in the season as the title character in David Lindsay-Abaire's "Kimberly Akimbo," June 16-July 9.
Seen last summer at Barrington Stage in "Man of La Mancha," McCarthy returns to BSC this season to co-star with SAG Award-winner Golden in the world premiere of Joe Iconis' musical, "Broadway Bounty Hunter," Aug. 12-Sept. 4, also in the St. Germain Stage.
Tunie will star in the world premiere of "American Son" by Christopher Demos-Brown, June 17-July 9, at the larger Boyd-Quinson Mainstage.
Tony winner Rupert (1986, "Sweet Charity," featured actor in a musical), will appear in "Presto Change-O," a world-premiere musical, at St. Germain Stage, May 18-June 11. Boykin (2015, "Porgy and Bess," featured actor in a musical), will play Samuel in BSC's Boyd-Quinson Mainstage production of Gilbert and Sullivan's "The Pirates of Penzance," July 15-Aug. 13.
