MONTPELIER, Vt. (AP) -- Police say a 56-year-old Vermont man faces charges after he allegedly led officers on a high-speed chase while throwing empty beer cans out his car window.
Montpelier police say an officer attempted to wave over Kerry Miller, of Berlin, in a service station parking lot at 7 p.m. Friday because his driver's side door was swung open.
Police told The Times-Argus (http://bit.ly/UqcLyd ) that rather than stop, Miller took off. During the chase, police say Miller tossed beer cans out his window, swerved into oncoming traffic and rammed a cruiser. The chase ended in Moretown, where Miller drove into a culvert.
Authorities say Miller will be charged with drunken driving, driving on a suspended license, attempting to elude police, aggravated assault and other offenses when he's arraigned Monday.
