Water main leak prompts shutoff in Lenox Dale; classes cancelled Wednesday at Montessori school

LENOX >> Repairs to plug a water main leak will force service to a portion of Lenox Dale to be shut off for much of the day on Wednesday, beginning at 9 a.m.

Because of the water service interruption, the Montessori School of the Berkshires has canceled classes for the day.

According to an announcement from Town Hall, the following areas of the village will have no water for up to eight hours during the day, depending on the time needed to repair the leak: Golden Hill Road; Henry Avenue; Catherine Street; Patterson Road; Lawton Street; Lasher Lane; Shaylor Hill; Mill Street and a portion of Walker Street.

"We will make every effort to have service restored by the evening," said Lenox Town Manager Christopher Ketchen.

Residents should be notified via Code Red phone and e-mail alerts tonight and on Wednesday with further details and updates.
