Posted

WILLIAMSTOWN -- Wild Oats Market is sponsoring an informal question-and-answer session with area organic farmers Lisa MacDougall of Mighty Food Farm in Pownal, Vt., and Jamie Snyder of Happenchance Farm in Eagle Bridge, N.Y., from 4 to 5 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, in the café.

The two will talk about seed selection, green composting, organic pest control, soil health, and raising backyard chickens, among other topics

Snyder raises vegetables, greens, melons, flowers, berries and more using certified organic methods. Two of his farm's largest crops are mesclun mixed greens and tomatoes.

MacDougall at Mighty Food Farm grows a variety of certified organic vegetables, greens and berries, in addition to offering fresh eggs. The year-round CSA, farm offers a variety of share options for individuals and families.

There is no cost or need to preregister for this workshop, which takes on Winter Member Appreciation Day with local supplier demonstrations.
