Will interest in carousel wane?

With the choice of the Berk shire Mall as its final location, I wonder if we will see a de crease in community interest and support for the Berkshire Carousel.

Rather than a local attraction, it could be seen as just another commercial addition to a retail outlet. I’m afraid that to most folks the carousel might look like it belongs to the mall, not the people.

And how hard will fundraising be for just another store at the mall?

If a structure downtown was all that was needed, what about the empty Notre Dame Church on Melville Street near the Common? It may be far-fetched, but wouldn’t it be grand if the Berkshire Carou sel brought people here to a church instead of a store?
