Williams College baseball walks off with win; Eph men's tennis to NESCAC semis


WILLIAMSTOWN -- Williams' baseball team scored twice in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk off with a 10-9 home win over NESCAC foe Hamilton on Friday.

Hamilton had put up five runs in the eighth to take the lead, erasing Williams' early 7-0 lead, but the Ephs (11-15, 7-5 NESCAC) drew within a run in the bottom of the frame and got RBI singles from Jack Roberts and David Webster to win it. Webster beat out an infield single up the third-base line as Kelso Stevens scored the winning run.

Steve Marino pitched one inning of relief to earn the win for the Ephs. Left fielder Luke Pierce and right fielder Jack Cloud drove in two runs each for the victors.

NESCAC men's tennis: Ephs to semifinals

BRUNSWICK, Maine -- Williams swept Tufts 5-0 on Friday at Bowdoin to reach a semifinal match against rival Amherst.

Matt Micheli, Conrad Harron, Rohan Shastri, Alexander Schidlovsky, Howard Weiss and Jose Raventos earned singles wins for the Ephs (15-5), who meet Amherst this afternoon at 1 p.m. Amherst won the regular-season meeting between the teams.
