Williams scores sweep in basketball
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Duncan Robinson’s 27 points on perfect shooting enabled the Williams men to beat Colby, 69-62, sweeping a weekend series from a pair of Maine teams.
The Ephs improved to 13-2 overall, 3-1 in the NESCAC.
Robinson was 9-for-9 from the floor and 6-for-6 from the foul line. Mike Meyer had nine rebounds for the winners. Williams led, 35-30 at halftime.
Williams women 71, Colby 54
WILLIAMSTOWN -- Freshman Lauren McCall led a balanced attack with 17 points as the Ephs improved to 14-2 and 2-2 in the NESCAC. It was McCall’s second double-figure scoring performance in as many days.
Williams took a 33-30 lead at halftime.
Ellen Cook had six rebounds and a team-high five assists in addition to 15 points. Kellie Macdonald added 14 for the winners.
Framingham 88, MCLA women 81, OT
NORTH ADAMS -- Framingham St. outscored MCLA 16-9 in overtime to take closely-contested 88-81 win. The loss dropped MCLA to 4-12, 0-4 in the MASCAC.
MCLA led 47-36 at halftime. The game was tied 72-72 after regulation.
Kristen Hoffman’s 27 points led Framingham. Kaitlyn Chenevert led MCLA with 19, while Kayla Hotaling came off the bench to score 18 and add 13 rebounds.
With MCLA ahead, 72-69, Framingham’s Carlee Putnam tied the game with a late three-pointer as time ran out in regulation.
