Williams students reach out to the Philippines

WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Chinese American Student Organization (CASO) at Williams College will hold a spring festival for Chinese New Year on Saturday, March 8, from 5 to 7 p.m., at the First Congregational Church to benefit International Medical Corps and help the Philippines recover from Typhoon Haiyan.

The students will offer performances and activities -- a lion dance performance, the Far Ephs Movement (Chinese a cappella), SpeakFree (spoken word poetry), a student playing a traditional Chinese instrument called the er hu, a fashion show and a raffle -- along with Chinese food catered by local restaurants.

All proceeds will go to help those affected by the typhoon. For more information, visit williams.edu.
