Williams Theatre Lab presents Scenes from the Hill Towns

WILLIAMSTOWN -- The Williams College Summer Theatre Lab continues its 10th anniversary season with "Scenes from the Hill Town Plays" by Lucy Thurber, at 7 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 3, on the CenterStage of the ‘62 Center for Theatre and Dance. Admission is free.

The Hill Town Plays chronicle the progression of a woman's life in rural Western Massachusetts.

Through acting and scene study sessions with Lab Co-Artistic Director Kevin O'Rourke and visiting artist Betsy Aidem, the Lab Company has curated a selection of scenes from this five-play cycle to perform.

Playwright Lucy Thurber, who is in residence during the weekend of the performance, will also host a Q&A session after the presentation.

Thurber has written 10 plays, including "Dillingham City," with Matt Gould, which Dorset Theatre Festival in Dorset will present as a new play reading in Dorset on Aug. 9.

The Summer Theatre Lab's 2014 season will continue with a 10th Anniversary Cabaret and Open Lab Weekend on Aug. 14, 15, and 16, with projects from visiting alumni professionals and former lab actors and writers. For tickets, visit tinyurl.com/labtickets2014 or call (413) 597-4839.
