Williams women's lacrosse wins; men's tennis falls in California


MEDFORD -- Bridget Malicki scored four goals and the Williams College women's lacrosse team never trailed in a 10-5 NESCAC victory at Tufts under the lights Wednesday. The win is the fifth in a row for the No. 12 Ephs (7-1, 4-1 NESCAC). Rebecca McGovern scored three goals and Ali Piltch had seven saves in goal for Williams.

SANTA BARBARA, Calif. -- The Ephs finished their spring trip west with a 7-2 loss to Westmont College.

Williams freshman Rohan Shastri, last year's All-Eagle boys tennis MVP for Mount Greylock, accounted for both points for the Ephs (7-2). He teamed with Jose Raventos for an 8-6 doubles win over Travis Kinsey and Nicholas Szyndlar, then earned a 6-2, 6-0 singles win over Tommy Nightingale.

Williams hosts Tufts at 1 p.m. Saturday.
