Williamstown: Computer robot workshop offered for youth

Posted

The Milne Public Library will host "Robots on the Run," a free, computer-based workshop for sixth through 12th-graders, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 21.

The workshop will be presented by staff from the Rhode Island Computer Museum, and aims to explain basic circuits and give instruction on how to build a simple robot. Participants will learn about programmable electronics, get instructions for making lights blink, motors run, and more.

Using interactive software called "Arduino," each teen will create their own sample "robot." Participants may bring their broken electronics to be taken apart to learn about circuits.

Advance sign-up is required as space is limited. Sign up in the children’s room, or call the library at (413) 458-5369.
