Williamstown: Donations sought for ABC clothing sale

Greylock A Better Chance has announced that it is accepting donations for its 21st annual giant clothing sale and its fourth annual linen sale.

Donations will be accepted only until Labor Day: quality gently-used clothing, shoes, jewelry, and accessories for adults, winter or summer, plus towels, sheets, comforters, blankets, bedspreads and other household linens (except curtains).

Items must be clean and in nearly-new condition; no holes, stains, broken zippers, pilling, or other defects.

Items should not be taken to the ABC House. Instead, they should be brought to First Congregational Church, 906 Main St., during limited hours: weekdays (except holidays) and Sundays from 9 a.m. to noon.

Bags and boxes should be taken in the door nearest the parking lot on Chapin Drive. Signs inside will direct donors downstairs to the collection spot.

Call Carolyn Behr at (413) 458-5557 for instructions or more information, or email her at carolynbehr@yahoo.com.

Proceeds from the ABC sales, this year to be held on Saturdays, Sept. 13 and 27, at First Congregational Church, will be used to help support four high school students of color who live and go to school in Williamstown during the academic year.
