Williamstown: Girl Scouts to host tea party

Girls in kindergarten and first grade in Berkshire County are invited to a special "Barbie and Me" tea party from 2 to 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 22, at the Williams Inn.

The tea party, sponsored by the Girl Scouts of Central and Western Massachusetts, celebrates "I Can Be," a new partnership between Barbie and the Girl Scouts of the USA that has created the first-ever limited-edition "Be Anything, Do Everything" patch.

Girls are invited to bring their favorite Barbie or other doll and come dressed for a tea party. At the party, girls will have a chance to explore career options and see how they fit in with the Girl Scout Law.

The cost is $25, which includes a 2013-14 registration to Girl Scouts, which allows girls to participate in Girl Scout troops, events and programs, as well as a special "I Can Be" Barbie/Girl Scouts activity and fun patch, and a chance to win a Barbie career package supplied by Cariddi Sales in North Adams.

Financial assistance is available. The tea party is limited to 12 girls and registration by Friday, Sept. 20, is required.
