Posted
Monday November 19, 2012

Hopkins Forest will be closed during the Massachusetts deer hunting season Nov. 26 through Dec. 8.

Everyone is welcome to resume using the forest for hiking, jogging, and cross-country skiing following the 12-day hunting period.

During deer hunting season, people walking or jogging on any back roads or trails are advised to wear brightly colored clothes as there could be hunters nearby.

Hopkins Forest is located at the intersection of Northwest Hill Road and Bulkley Street. The reserve, managed by the Williams College Center for Environmental Studies, spans more than 2,500 acres in Massachusetts, New York and Vermont.
