Williamstown: Irish step dance class offered

A beginners’ Irish step dance class for children ages 6 to 10 will be held Wednesdays, May 1 to June 12, from 1:45 to 2:45 p.m., at the Williamstown Youth Center.

This class will teach basic jig steps through ceili dances. Parents are welcome. Focus will be on building step repertoire, rhythm-following skills and general technique while keeping learning fun and simple.

Leotards and tights are welcome, but not necessary. It is recommended that students wear T-shirts and shorts or sweatpants with ballet slippers, jazz shoes or socks.

The cost is $50 for seven weeks.
