Williamstown: Milne Library announces Teen Read Week events

In conjunction with Teen Read Week, Oct. 13-19, the Milne Public Library invites tweens and teens to submit an original piece of art (photograph, drawing, painting, sculpture) that has been inspired by a book they’ve read.

Art pieces will be displayed at the library, and a small reception will be held at an opening at the end of October or early November.

Submit artwork to Helen in the children’s room by Oct. 19, and label the piece with the name of the book that provided inspiration.

Sixth-graders and up are eligible to submit pieces. Ideally the work (if it is two dimensional) should be able to fit into an 8x10 or 5x7 inch frame. Accommodations can be made for larger pieces.

There will also be a book swap during this week, for paperbacks and comics: take one, and leave one. Books can be old, but not damaged. A labeled box will be available in the Teen Room (computer lab) to drop off and pick up books.
