Williamstown: Nobel Laureate to keynote global poverty conference


Angus Deaton, 2015 Nobel Laureate, will deliver the keynote address for the Global Poverty Conference at Williams College.

Deaton will speak at 8 p.m. Thursday, April 7, in Brooks-Rogers Recital Hall, Bernhard Music Center. The event is free and open to the public.

Deaton's research focuses on the determinants of health in rich and poor countries, as well as on the measurement of poverty in India and around the world.

For his analysis of consumption, poverty, and welfare, he was awarded the 2015 Nobel Prize in economic sciences.
