The Preliminary Scholastic Aptitude Test/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test will be given on Saturday, Oct. 20, from 7:45 to 11:15 a.m. at Mount Greylock Regional High School.

The PSAT is a preliminary or practice version of the SAT that is required by a vast majority of college admissions offices. For juniors, it is also the basis for determining National Merit Scholarships. Therefore, all juniors are strongly encouraged to take the PSAT. Sophomores may also take the test as practice.

Students may sign up in the guidance office with $19 test fee in cash or check made payable to Mount Greylock Regional School District. When students register, they will receive a PSAT Student Bulletin that has test-taking tips and strategies, as well as a sample test.

The deadline to register for the PSAT is Friday, Oct. 12.
